MECINE is a network between European medium sized cities (from 50,000 to 250,000 inhabitants). It was founded in 1994 as a forum for exchanging experiences.

The cities of Gniezno (Poland) and Cáceres (Spain) are observers to the network.

The city that presently holds the leadership for 2010/2011 is SPEYER (Germany).
