MUNICIPAL TOURISM IN NUMBERS

 

Since 1968 the Municipal Tourism Office has been keeping daily record about the tourist influence. More than four million and a half visitors (4.633.826) have been recorded over the 40 years of functioning.

1999 was the year that recorded more influence with a total of 448.508 visitors; on the other hand, 1976 was the year that recorded less influence with a total of 9.613 visitors.

1.218 group tours to Évora were recorded in 2008, the equivalent to 34.877 visitors.

In the same year, the Municipal Tourism Office has made through its services over 84 guided tours to public entities, good part of them to educative institutions.

Still in 2008, 140.500 visitors were recorded, 18% of this value (25.180) was recorded in August.

There are actually working 31 lodging places in the council, in 7 different typologies, that represent 1.949 beds available.
